I've been studying arms and the meanings of them. Though it wasn't of the Germanic kind (mine was mostly researching my own heritage's Scottish arms), there seems to be a commonality between elements that adorn shields. The crown is perfect with the wings and background elements (are those scepters? Either way they look great). This obviously points to a group/person of HIGHEST nobility (as you have pointed out). Great job!
It's funny, I have received feedback from behance.com with a totally 180 degree different take on the USA, i.e.:

Dear lord, that USA is spectacular.
so I chalk this up to personal opinion rather than objective review. I would say that IMHO, the lettering of those three central items have an appropriate modernist historicism to them. That's why I went that way, but to each his or her own.
Be that as it may, I most whole heartedly welcome and appreciate your commentary and pray that any other observers take note of your review and realize that THIS IS HOW ITS DONE and THIS IS WHY WE'RE HERE and STOP BEING SO FUCKING TIMID and make DA a worthwhile place to really exchange useful feedback. FOR FUCK'S SAKE.
Thanks much. I'll be here all week. Tip your waitress. Try the veal.
And Alex, do please stop by more often. I look forward to any time you have to spare on my little pictures.
I'll be sure to subscribe to you since I (unknowingly) liked a few other of your designs. Have a good one!
